While the kids were at cousin camp, Klay and I decided to surprise them and fix up their rooms a bit.
Kami already had a really fancy carriage bed, but we had a princess/castle rug that we'd been waiting to give her. We hung up all the princess pictures that have been laying against the walls for months and we had a new lamp to add to the PINKest room you've ever seen.
Kami's Room
We found an awesome deal on a daybed for Kortney, so we got rid of the queen bed that was taking up a lot of space in her room. We also took the huge dresser that she had in her room and moved it to Kylees room. It was just way to big for any of the short walls in Kortney's room, but fit perfectly along the big wall in Kylee's. We also hung the killer whale poster and canopy that Kortney had been asking us to hang.
Kortney's Room
Kally has been sleeping in Kortney's room with her pretty much since we've moved here. We were using a bed with drawers that Klay had when he was little with not such a great mattress. A month or so ago, we finally painted the bed and drawers to match her room, but still hadn't purchased a good mattress. Klay came up with the idea to build a canopy using PVC pipe. It turned out great, and soooo cute.
Kally's Room
We hadn't really done anything with Kylee's room since we moved here. She was still using plastic containers for her drawers and was sleeping in her toddler bed. The frame of our bunk bed was also half way set up in her room for the last month. We finally got rid of both those beds and put up this one. My parents have had the frame to this one in there attic for years and we finally decided to make it work for us. We had to mess around quite a bit to get one of our bed frames to work on it, but we did it. We moved the dresser in from Kortney's room, fixed all the slides on the drawers, hung up princess pictures, and the canopy.
Kylee's Room
Once all the rooms were cleaned up and decorated, they looked so cute.
We didn't get home until after midnight on Tuesday when we picked them up, but they were all excited from the teasing about what their surprises might be that they were wide awake when we pulled into the garage.
We ended up being up for another hour because of the excitement.
Unfortunately, Kami's room didn't change enough to get her over being to scared to get to sleep herself. The other girls slept in their own beds ALL night though. Kami still slept on the couch in our room and I was to tired to fight her. We'll have to work on that.
