Kortney is in 6th grade. Her last year of elementary. I guess more than the summer has flown by. She was pretty excited when she found out her friend Haylee was going to be in her class this year. But then, two days ago, we got a letter saying that they were getting one more 6th grade teacher and Kortney would be moving into this new class. Unfortunately Haylee didn't end up moving with her. She was pretty bummed about that.
They also have so many kids going to this school, that they have to bring another portable classroom for Kortneys class to be in. There are already 3 portables with two classes each in them, so Kortney's class makes it a 7th class outside. There are over 900 kids in the school and half the playground is covered by the portables. Crazy. I'm not complaining though, because they would have had 37 kids in each of the 3 6th grade classes if they had not brought in the new teacher and classroom. That's way to many kids in one class.
Kortneys teacher, Mrs. Hardy seems really good though. I'm not worried about Kortney. She's already warmed up to the teacher and kids in her class.
Kally loves school. She is in Mr. Rob's 3rd grade class. She is a hoot. The only thing she's not happy about is that we told her she has to wear different clothes to school each day. Last year she would pick an outfit and wear it the whole week. By Friday, the clothes could walk themselves. Her friend, Ashley, ended up in a different class too. She was bummed about it, but decided it was good that they would get to play at recess. She even came up with the idea for them to have a meeting place.
Kami did awesome the first day of school. She is in Mrs. Chapman's 1st grade class. She was a little hesitant at first and wanted me to stay with her. But then she found her friend Josh (he was in her class last year) and she was fine after that. She has even made some new girlfriends in the class the last couple of days. I am so proud of her!!!!!
Kylee even went to her preschool orientation this week. We will be car pooling with another boy her in Stansbury to take the two of them back into West Valley to Aunt Sands Preschool. My other three girls went there and we are so excited that Kylee gets to go there too. She is extremely excited (which is such a change from months ago). She keeps telling us " I go my pre class myself". She was mad that we came with her to the orientation. We keep telling her that next time she goes, she will go herself. She is sooooo cute.
