Half way to freedom!

Kally is doing so much better. She is pretty much back to normal, except that she has to carry around her backpack full of meds. We have to unhook it for her to change her shirt, or anytime she baths.

We actually decided its probably a good thing that she has to carry it around because it gives her the limitation she needs to take it easy on her foot. Otherwise she'd be runny around like normal, and she's still supposed to take it easy on her foot even though it isn't really hurting her anymore.

She slept in our room for the first week we were back from the hospital. But, she is even back to sleeping upstairs again.

The home care nurse is still coming each week to change the dressings and take blood samples that they are testing. Our pediatrician has called each week after receiving the results and the markers they are watching are continuing to go down as they should. One of the tests, I think its called a CRT, is close to normal, but they like to treat with the antibiotics for at least two weeks after the normal result.

We have a doctors appointment scheduled on March 31st with the Infectious Disease doctors up at Primary's who will make sure she is good to get the PICC line out at that time. So two more weeks and she'll be free. Just in time to start soccer!

Wow crazy stuff! It is so sad to see kids in so much pain. Just when you thought you'd seen it all, who knew such a crazy thing could happen?!
