Last year (3rd grade), she would pick an outfit on Monday and wear the same clothes all week long. By Friday, the clothes would practically walk by themselves, so I'd make her put them in the laundry and she'd pick a new outfit for the next week. I really didn't think it was that big of a deal, heck, if she doesn't feel self conscious about wearing the same clothes each day, why should we tell her she should be. So, it went on pretty much the whole year.
This year (4th grade) to all of our amazement, she has decided to wear different clothes everyday. Everything but the socks, anyway!!!!!!!
Now remember, she is 9 years old, so she gets dressed herself. I have seen her wearing socks with holes in them several times in the last years (usually just in the toes and heels). I would make comments to her about how I wouldn't be able to stand wearing socks like that. Klay, on the other hand, wears socks with holes in them quite often. So, you know where she gets it from.
Anyway, we are sitting at the table after dinner one night last week (Oct 13th) and Kally is messing around on the chair. I look up and this is what I saw.
"Holy crap, are you seriously wearing those?", is my reply.
(Then ran to get the camera!)
6 Days later, same socks! She says they got washed once, but I'm not so sure.
Kortney has taken them from her a couple of times and thrown them in the garbage. Of course, this ends in screaming and yelling and Kally digging them out.
Unfortunately for my dear Kally, they are going to have to go very SOON!
Update: I told Kally I was going to take the socks. She said, "No, I'll hide them!", I said, "Great, as long as I don't see them on your feet, I don't care where they are!". And she had different ones on today. :-) Now to get her to wear a different pair everyday instead of just wearing these ones until they are dead!

Bless your heart Kristen. Mitch has a very strict NO HOLES in socks policy here. If he ever does the socks, I always find several in the trash. So bless her heart also, she is going to need some warmer socks.
