Kally - Update

Friday -

9 am - They did an MRI and another xray. The MRI lasted about 30 minutes. They let Kally watch a movie through little goggles with head phones. She looked like she was getting ready to go to outspace. She said it was like watching a movie at a theatre without heads in the way.

11:15 - Infection is in the bone and PICC line. Caused from a bacteria in the blood that settles on the bone. They said it happens quite often in children and there isn't anything you can do to prevent it. Klay and Kally are playing a game of Trouble. Klay is trying to cheat and move 9 spaces instead of 6. I guess we know where Kally gets it from. She is always trying to cheat when we are playing games.

12:30 - Started antibiotics in the IV she already has. They want to wait until tomorrow to give her the PICC line (something to do with blood results). She can finally get something to eat since they won't be doing the PICC line today. She hasn't eaten anything since yesterday at lunch so she is starving.

It's called osteomyelitis - infection in the bone.

2pm - She is doing good right now. Watching TV and eating a popcycle :-) But she will be here at primary's til at least Sun and then has to come home with an IV for a couple of weeks. :-(

Klay went home, picked up the other kids and brought them in to see us. We took Kally in a wheelchair up to the playroom and they all played fuseball.

Kristen I am so sorry to hear what is going on. I know you probably have tons of family help but would you like us to take the girls for the weekend. My girls would love it.
